August 2018: Letter from the President

     The election for the 2019 open positions of PMI Houston Chapter’s Board of Director (B0D) is scheduled for Aug 15 – Sep 4, 2018. Nominations Committee, along with PMI Global is hard at work to finalize the arrangements. I highly encourage you to actively participate in this democratic process and cast your vote. Stay tuned for the official communique.

    The PMI Houston Chapter is managed by a member-elected BoD that is responsible for running the Chapter business. The Board’s responsibilities include Chapter operations, staff and budget, setting strategic direction and defining annual targets in line with the mission. The Board also serves the PM community in Cosmopolitan Houston.

    The workshop titled ‘How to Land Your Next PM Job in 40 Days’ was held on July 28th. Anthony Ally conducted the workshop which was a SOLD OUT event. If you are among those who waited till the last minute to register, you missed it. What an event it was!

    The objective of this workshop was to assist and guide our community members who are looking for job opportunities or planning a career change. Some of the focal points were:

    • Look inwards for improvements
    • Capitalize on your strengths
    • Using the power of social media to your advantage.

    The audience gave a lot of positive feedback and all in all, this was a very successful event.

    We are looking forward to planning similar events in the future.
